About Us

Home Base Music was started in 2022 by Joseph Dresen. He has grown up in Montana serving on many different worship teams across the state and has been teaching music in the public schools for nine years.  Home Base Music was started when Joseph began releasing his original worship songs. It has grown to an amazing connection with local artists, helping provide guidance in preforming, writing, recording, and releasing music. We also look for opportunities to lead worship music around town.

What We Do

  • We believe in enabling musicians to have the skills and the resources available to make good music. There is so much to learn about music. Not only is it singing or playing an instrument, but it is how to write music, how to record, how to use sound equipment, how to work with other musicians, and so much more. Home Base Music desires to meet your needs. Through training, renting out equipment, or coming to perform for your event, we want to be there for your musical needs and journey.

  • Joseph has been a worship leader for many churches for 15+ years. He has led from guitar, piano, or as a vocal leader. His ministry is to lead people into worship. Joseph can come and lead your worship team for church, event, or bible study.

    Joseph is finishing his seminary degree and would be honored to come speak at a conference or for a special church service.

  • Home Base Music has collected quality sound equipment to be able to help make your event sound great. Whether it is a simple microphone for your event or a full band set-up Home Base Music can make your event sound good.

  • Joseph has been a music teacher (general music, band, and orchestra) for 9 years and has taught private lessons for 7 years. He has also been a part of many worship teams for many different churches for 15+ years.

    You can sign up for individualized lessons or coaching to learn from Joseph. He offers traditional instrumental and vocal lessons. He also offers coaching in music writing, recording, and producing.

Meet Joseph Dresen

Joseph offers a wealth of knowledge and experience to musicians, churches, and the community. He earned his Bachelors of Music Education at Montana State University where he also played in the Wind Symphony, Spirit of the West Marching Band, Chorale, and various chamber groups. His primary instrument through college was clarinet but he also took piano, vocal lesson, and passed a guitar proficiency exam. In college, he began writing music and working with worship bands in local churches. Upon graduation, he moved to Great Falls, along with his wife Amber, where he took a General Music position for Great Falls Public Schools.

After a few years, Joseph had decided to continue his education and go back to MSU to earn a Masters of Education with an emphasis in Music. During this time he grew in music technology, vocal pedagogy, music analysis, and educational techniques. In addition to formal education, a worship mentorship became available through his church that worked with Candraall4him Ministries to grow his skills as a leader, musician, and worshipper. He is currently finishing a Masters Degree in Ministry from Global Awakening Theological Seminary.

Home Base Music has been buying music gear to rent for events in the Great Falls area. We have provided gear for large local events including "The Soiree" hosted by Spark the Arts booster club and provided extra gear for "The Gathering Summer Outreach" hosted by The Gathering Ministry and Candraall4him Ministry.

Joseph has been blessed to work as a music teacher, worship leader, provide mentorship to many worship teams, and release original worship music from his home studio. Through his own journey he can also offer coaching to becoming an independent artist. After receiving these amazing mentorships and skills, Joseph dreams of being able to pay it forward. By founding Home Base Music, he's now able to mentor and work with artists, musicians, and teams to give them the opportunities that he was given.
